What is a cabochon?  A cabochon is a cut of stone that has no facets... it is dome-shaped with a flat bottom.  When viewed from the side, it's resembles a drop of water on a flat surface.

NOTE: The opal shown here is a genuine opal that we have in our store... it is only shown to help you visualize a cabochon.

Stacking Rings- CABOCHON Stones
A more modern collection of stackable rings. These designs are worn as fashion rings or mothers rings with her her family's birth month stones.
Pluses: Unique product design. Can often be worn in different combinations when all bands are the same width.
Minuses: Resizing is not recommended.

* Definition: Opal Triplet
An stone that is assembled by layering a base material (often black), a very thin layer of genuine Opal and a clear top layer of quartz or glass.  The top layer helps to magnify the opal beneath it.  The layers are epoxied together for form a more affordable version of an opal.
